Living on campus means that residents are just a few steps away from friends, classes, and the exciting opportunities that Austin has to offer, with the added benefit of enhanced safety and security on campus.

While living on campus, you will have plenty of support from Residence Life. Our dedicated staff, residence directors, and resident assistants are always here for you — to lend a hand, answer questions, assist with the room selection process, and provide programs that enrich your college experience!

Before you can sign up forÌýfor housing, you must be accepted to the university andÌýsubmit your nonrefundable $500 enrollment deposit. Please allow 24–48 hoursÌýfor processing from the time you submit your enrollment deposit. Then you may access your housing application through the pre-orientation online course,ÌýHillstart. Be sure to look for the invitation toÌý±á¾±±ô±ô²õ³Ù²¹°ù³ÙÌýin your SEU email!
Housing is granted on a first-come, first-served basis. Academic Year housing registration opens onlineÌýFebruary 19, 2024.ÌýSpring only housing registration opens online in October each year.
All first-time freshmenÌýand sophomores are required to live on campus unless they meet the following criteria:
To submit your housing exemption,Ìýlog in toÌýHillstartÌýto begin the housing application. On the appropriate page, selectÌýthe box to indicate that you are applying for a housing exemption and provide documentation thatÌýsupports your request. Residence Life will contact you via email to confirm your request.Ìý

Current students will be able to sign up for fall housing beginning onÌýJanuary 30, 2024. The two-step online housing sign-up process is required for participation.
STEP 1: Get your housing sign-up time.ÌýLog in toÌýÌýand begin your housing application via the housing portal between 9 am on January 30 and 5 pm on February 6.
STEP 2: Select your housing.ÌýLog in toÌýÌýduring your assigned timeslotÌýand make your selection via the housing portal.
If you miss Step 1, you will be able to select housing beginning on February 16, 2024.

The Spring housing application opens for returning students on October 1 viaÌýthe housing portal,Ìýaccessed throughÌý. New students may apply for housing throughÌýHillstart, which will be available in November.
Spring housing is available on a first-come, first-served basis and housing assignments will be assigned mid-December.
MealÌýplans are assigned to the student in conjunction with their housing assignments. If you wish to change your meal plan, you may do so by contacting theÌýHilltopper CardÌýOfficeÌýatÌýonecard@stedwards.edu. Housing and meal plans will be billed to the student's account within 24-48 hours after an assignment is made, payable viaÌý.
