Turn your passion for musical theater into professional-level skills at the Mary Moody Northen Theatre at ϲʿ’s.

Learn by collaborating with working artists in the Austin theater community, and earn points toward your membership in Actor’s Equity, the union of professional actors and stage managers in the United States. Take courses in piano and voice, or join a musical ensemble on campus. Hone your skills in ballet, tap or other styles of dance. And take advantage of life in Austin, the Live Music Capital of the World, where you can see bands perform and catch local and touring productions every week. Audition for local shows, including those with Summer Stock Austin or the summer musical at the Zilker Hillside Theater.

The Musical Theater minor is part of the Department of Performing Arts.

Mary Moody Northen Theatre

Mary Moody Northen Theater (MMNT) stands at the center of the theatertraining program and operates on aprofessional model. Through MMNT, students work and perform alongside professionals in the field and may earn points towards membership inActors' Equity Association, the union of professional actors and stage managers in the United States. Transit Theatre Troupe

This student-led organization provides multiple opportunities for involvement in theater production in addition to the university's main stage and class-related productions.
